Elon Musk has kept his promise to sell his entire mansion and admits to living in a modest rented house. But is that really so? Likewise, Elon Musk recently sold his last luxury home in the California area for $32 million. His other houses had previously been sold off so that they officially became ‘bums’.
He previously said he was happy to live in the rented house, which is a portable house near SpaceX’s headquarters in Texas. “My main residence is literally a $50k house in Boca Chica, which I rented from SpaceX. This house is awesome,” he wrote on Twitter.
However, of course there are some people who don’t believe it considering Elon Musk is the richest person in the world today with a net worth of USD 300 billion. Well, the Wall Street Journal has conducted a search and revealed the results.
“According to a Wall Street Journal report, Elon Musk for most of the year lived in a Lake Austin mansion owned by an old friend and also wanted to buy his own home in the Austin, Texas area,” said the Austin American Statesman.
According to sources, the owner of the mansion is Ken Howery, co-founder of PayPal with Musk. Not only that, Musk is said to be actively looking for a house with the help of several real estate agents.
“It’s not a big deal that the world’s richest person wants to buy expensive mansions, but when he puts the false narrative that he chooses a minimalist life, it definitely makes news,” wrote Futurism.
Elon Musk apparently read the news and rebutted. He claims he doesn’t live in a friend’s luxury house at all or wants to buy another one.
“This WSJ article is wrong. I don’t live there and I’m not looking for a home anywhere,” said Elon Musk, the leader of SpaceX and Tesla.
