After fasting in the month of Ramadan, now Muslim communities around the world rejoice in celebrating Eid al-Fitr.
Ramadan is a month in which Muslims suppress their hunger and lust, as a form of worship and remove sins that have been committed previously. During that month, they also pay zakat as a form of obligation that must be done to purify the assets they have. It is also believed that when a person does 1 good deed, it will be multiplied by 70 to infinity. Which makes the Muslim community increase their worship.
After undergoing the month of Ramadan, now the time has come when the month of Shawwal has arrived. The Muslim community celebrates Eid Mubarak, which is a day where they apologize to each other for the mistakes they have done. The Muslim community also visits family and friendships to increase the ties of brotherhood they have.
Covid-19 Disease
It is a pearl of special wisdom to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr in the Covid-19 pandemic situation. The atmosphere of togetherness and happiness that is commonly felt by Muslims around the world, must temporarily be lived with limitations and still pay attention to health protocols.
However, during the coronavirus pandemic that has hit the world, forcing everyone to stay at home, minimizing gatherings and mobility, so they can’t celebrate Eid as under normal conditions.
Another important Eid celebration is Eid Prayer. The congregation in the mosque or the field is the most meaningful moment for Muslims. Although the law is sunnah, many people think it is very important, considering that the implementation is only once a year. Even those who are lazy to perform the caretaker prayers or Friday prayers will not leave the Eid prayer.
After Covid-19
The potential for transmission of COVID-19 still exists during the 2022 Eid holiday, so to prevent a spike after Eid, the main thing is the use of masks. Correct use of masks and a good selection of masks can reduce the potential for transmission through the respiratory tract.
Second, what needs to be prevented is handshake contact, which can be a means of transmitting the virus because hands often come into contact with other parts, especially when the mask is removed, such as when we eat together.
Even if there is a handshake contact, don’t forget to wash it immediately with soap or simply smear it with hand sanitizer. So if you can, prepare hand sanitizer in small bottles that are easy to carry around.
The third is not to linger in the crowd to chat with each other which can trigger the potential for transmission. Crowds must occur in the family environment and don’t forget the potential for transmission in the family is 10 times higher than transmission in public areas.
